When I first saw her, I couldn't believe she is 4.5 years old! She looks really younger...skinny and so small! I knew it's not going to be easy to teach her, but her parents have started teaching her how to read Arabic since she was 3, so I thought it wont be a big deal...
She is from Pakistan, and the family communicates in Urdu, so her English is not that good!
She is spoiled, it's so easy for her to cry, she actually cried twice while I was teaching her...It wasn't hard to calm her down, but sometimes I think to myself and wonder: what I'm I doing here exactly? Am I baby sitting or teaching?!
Her mom stays in the next room, the whole time, so whenever she hears her cry or complain she jumps in, and starts talking to her in Urdu...she makes her calm down and then leaves us alone again...I don't like it when she does this and I told her that, but she thinks it's the best for her kid because she knows her the most!
She seems to be threatening her with the father because she keeps the phone in her hand acting as if she is calling someone!
Last week, the father was there, a BIG guy who seemed to be really nice and was telling me how happy they are for having me as a teacher for their girl...
I started teaching her, and she started whining, saying that she is tired...so the mother came in and made her quiet, and then left :s
The mother then came in carrying a plate of tangerines for me, - I also asked her once not to bring me anything while teaching because it distracts the little girl a lot-!
So the girl started crying saying: "I want the oranges! I want to eat it all!"
Her mom got UPSET! and said: "I will call your father"...and left!
The girl started crying like crazy...she started saying: "no, don't call him, he beats me a lot!" She started hitting her head so hard with her hand saying: "he hits me like this, like this"! and then started pulling her hair and said: "he takes my hair away, like this, like this" I was about to run away! I felt horrible!!!
The BIG NICE father came in so she started SCREAMING! he held her FROM HER HAND! and took her to another room...
Now I was shaking...
The mother said to me smiling: "It's a father-daughter moment" :s:s:s
The little girl came back running, with a yellow face, jumped on her high chair and started reading from her book as fast and as good as never before!!!!!
